What is trucking insurance?
There are numerous types of trucking insurance policies available to cover trucking companies. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration requires that trucking companies carry a minimum of $750,000 in auto liability coverage for commercial vehicles weighing greater than 10,001 lbs. There are certain commodities that require additional auto liability coverage. Typical cargo coverage limits are $100,000 although it is not uncommon to see cargo insurance coverage at $250,000 or above.
